Fighters by Jeremy Flack. Ex Library Book with all the usual stamps and markings. This book illustrates a cross-section of those remaining fighter aircraft which survived World War II and keep flying. When the war finished, huge numbers of all types of combat aircraft suddenly became surplus. As the troops went back to 'civvy street' something had to be done with their redundant weapons. Some were mothballed, some - relatively few - were passed on to poorer countries to boost their defenses; however, the majority of the ships, tanks and aircraft left over were scrapped. A VERY LARGE BOOK THAT WILL REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FREIGHT.
