Days of Steam & Model T's by Jean Ronchi. Signed by the Author. 'Jean Ronchi began writing in her early 50's. She first began when she moved from Auckland with her husband, Loftus, to Te Awamutu, when she joined the New Zealand Women Writers, which later went out of existance. Jean is a West Coaster. She was born at Ngahere, and lived later in Blackball and Greymouth, where she married in St John's Church in 1944. Loftus' family had a country butchery business, which gave them a wide connection with people round about. Most of Jean's writing is about the West Coast. This book centres on Blackball, where her father, Thomas Lamberton, was stationed as a guard, and her brother, Thomas, was an engine driver. From this come title, "Days of Steam and Model T's". Model T's delivered the butcher's meat.
