Padre, Patient and Physician. Laurence Neville Watkins was born in Wellington in 1901, the second son of the late Laurence Watkins, Mus. Bac., organist of St. Mark's Church. Educated at the Terrace School and Wellington College, he worked in a legal office of the Civil Service for six years when he entered St. John;s College, Auckland, to study for the ministry.
