The Man's Book
Description
The Man's Book. Edited by Colin Willock. "I can remember a gigantic work of reference to which my mother used to turn in moments of doubt and dilemma. It was approximately six inches thick and contained seven hundred pages crammed with small black type which was broken up with infrequent line drawings of arms in splints and legs of mutton. Its virtue was that it told the perplexed reader with equal thoroughness how to clean an ostrich feather fan or apply artificial respiration. Its subtitle announced proudly that it contained 'everything a woman ought to know' - though from my recollection there were several decorous gaps in it - and it was called appropriately enough The Woman's Book. All this is by the way. I am simply acknowledging a debt. For the fond memory of this great work prompted the thought that it was about time someone did something similar for Men..." From the introduction of this book. The book has light to medium general wear but remains tight and bright.
