Denis Glover's Bedside Book
Description
Denis Glover's Bedside Book by Denis Glover (Himself). Illustrations by Russell Clark. "One of the pleasures of the bed, I say to you, is reading in it. Better than the bath. If you are a light sleeper, heavy reading is recommended to send you off. For heavy sleepers, light reading; but not to excess. The apparatus is inexpensive. First you need several books - different books of course - with this one on the top of the pile. Oh, and that postulates a bedside table, generally cluttered with pills, hairpins, loose change, bicycle clips, and a glass of water. Some people add an ashtray, strictly not necessary. If the book is a library one, butts can be extinguished by placing them between any two pages and snapping the book shut. This also serves to mark your place.. ' The dust jacket has much wear with folds and small chips and rubbing down the edges but the book remains tight and bright.
