Maitland Tramway Ventures
Description
Maitland Tramway Ventures by R. Willson and K. McCarthy. Author's signature and note on tipped-in card on the inside front page. 'The Maitland Tramway story is one which could well have applied to many other New South Wales provincial tramway proposals had they reached fruition. Apart from the metropolitan areas of Sydney and Newcastle, Broken Hill was the only other centre to be serviced by street tramways: like the Maitland system, this network was not a financial success and both were closed during the late hours of Friday, 31st December, 1926. The material in this book grew from a few notes originally planned for a short article of not more than a dozen paged, but the authors' searches were so rewarding only publication in book form has been able to do justice to the topic.'The dust jacket has light to medium general wear with scuffs and age stains and small closed tears. The book, however, remains tight and bright.
