It deals with the significant diseases of cattle, sheep, pigs, horses and dogs that occur in New Zealand, and suggests for cattle, sheep and pig farms, management methods that will aid the achievement of high production and good animal health. Emphasis is placed on the prevention of diseases, but when these occur, the farmer is advised what he can do himself and when he should seek the help of a veterinary surgeon. When confronted with a sick cow, sheep or pig the farmer should consult the key which is provided in those sections of the book to discover, from the more obvious symptoms, the disease most likely to be involved.' The book has medium general wear with stains on the covers and light foxing on the early pages but the book remains tight and bright.
