Description

From the South by K. W. Ritchie. Much has been written about early Maori-Pakeha contact in the Bay if Islands, yet the Sealer-Maori contact in the far South of New Zealand preceded that of the North by over a decade. This historical novel is based on the South of New Zealand in the 19th century and has a central character of James Caddell a boy-sealer from England. The book has light general wear with bumps to the corners and slight bow in the binding but overall a tidy copy. Previous owners name or inscription on inside front page. Ex Library Book with all the usual stamps and markings.
